Organs of examination: 

• Uterus, endometrium thickness, cervix, ovaries and adnexa.

Preparation: 

• Wear loose, comfortable shirt or clothing. Drink plenty of water and avoid going to the toilet until after the scan.

Aim: 

• To assess organs and structures within the female pelvis. It allows quick visualization of the female pelvis organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries. It can detect cancer, tumors or ovarian cysts and help to diagnose pelvic pain and abnormal menstrual bleeding. It helps to establish diagnosis of conditions like endometriosis, fibroid, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer and cause of infertility etc.
